Karachi's college seats aren't given out on open merit alone — where you live and the grade you scored in your 9th class result both decide which colleges you can apply to.
Scored an A-1 or A grade? You can apply to any government college in Karachi, city-wide, regardless of where you live.
Scored a B, C, D or E grade? Your application is limited to colleges within your own zone, based on your home address.
Karachi is divided into zones so students are matched to colleges near home rather than across the city. A share of seats in each zone is reserved for local students, with the rest open to city-wide merit.
Outside Karachi, admissions are overseen by the Regional Director of Colleges for Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana.
The exact zone boundaries and the open-merit share of seats are notified by the Directorate General of Colleges Sindh each admission cycle.

Your CNIC or B-Form plus your 9th class and matric enrollment numbers. An existing Sindh government-college record is linked automatically.
Board, group and your 9th + matric marks — this is what your merit score is calculated from. You cannot apply until it's complete.
Choose up to five colleges in order of preference. One application per cycle; the order decides which college considers you first.
Your first choice sees you on its merit list. If it finishes admissions without selecting you, you move automatically to your next choice.
Your dashboard shows exactly where you stand — under review, moved on, admitted with a roll number, or referred to the Directorate.
O-Level students follow the same SECCAP application, with two extra things to sort out before you register.
Your O-Level result has to be converted into an equivalent SSC percentage by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) before you can register — apply for this well before the last date.
You must have passed English, Urdu, Islamiyat and Pakistan Studies, plus your optional subjects, for the equivalence to be accepted.
Use your IBCC equivalence certificate number in place of a matric roll number when you complete your education profile.

Servers get busy and small errors take time to fix. Submit early so you have room to correct anything.
Your merit score is calculated from what you enter. Double-check every number against your marksheet before submitting.
Blurred, cropped or multi-face photos fail verification. Use a recent, clear, passport-style picture of yourself only.
If all five choices are highly competitive, you risk ending up with no seat. Include colleges your marks comfortably reach.
Claim Forms are accepted only for a short period after each merit list. Once it closes, corrections aren't possible.
